Phantom F4-B VF-161 made entirely with LEGO

Last time we covered a real life military MOC, it was the outstanding 1/15th Scale F-14A Tomcat made by crash_cramer, a creation to behold and admire. Today we want to somehow tribute another very talented creator, MOCer and scale modeler who has matched the Tomcat TWICE!! We are talking about Carl Geatrix, who made two replicas of the classic McDonnell Douglas F4 Phantom, a plane that roared the skies during the Vietnam conflict back in the 60's.

Designed in the late 1950s, the McDonnell-Douglas F-4 Phantom II became one of the most prolific fighter aircraft of the Cold War. Serving in numerous air forces around the world, the aircraft saw extensive service in a number of large regional conflicts, including the Vietnam War, the Yom Kippur War, and the Iran-Iraq War.

From the creator Flickr account:

"Outstanding"....; pics on its stand! ;)

I've had a love / hate relationship with this build, but I'm really happy with the final result, especially when its on its stand. These birds are just brutal / wicked looking from any angle, hence my love for them and building this.

Features include, working flaps, spolers, airbrakes, canopies, tail rudder, tail hook, folding wing tips, retractable landing gear, removable fuselage pannels with interior piping details and flashing nav lights."

This heel of a project features working landing gear, fuselage shaped and structurally sound with the weight of the tail fin,  main wings shaped and structually sound, leading edge flaps work along with rear trailing flaps and electrical lights.

Wing trailing edge flaps, spoilers and air brakes. Upper spoiler and lower air brake open, Flaps straight.

A couple of pics of it on its landing gear.
