When it comes to LEGO and futuristic speeder bikes, is easy to think of Kaneda bike (AKIRA), one that we've seen before in LEGO fashion by the way. But this time we bring something quite different and refreshing, the "Akiyama Sidewinder GT", a hover speeder bike created by MOCer Djokson that easily excels anything from the anime and manga worlds.
Not that the creator shared lots of inputs and information abut this creation, but diving a bit into his Flickr account, some comments give us an idea of the designing process:
About the helmet:
"I was originally gonna go with a Technic fig helmet but it turned out to be just slightly too small to look good with the proportions of the whole thing. Figuring out an alternative was probably the part of the build I spent the most time on but I feel like it paid off."
Speeder came first, then comes the rider:
"About both the rider being built later and the windscreen being a bit off. I contemplated changing it out but couldn't come up with an alternative that had the same feel I was going for."
Is evident the use of Bionicle pieces, including that Rahkshi mask piece over there. The creator made us feel those pcs where always meant to be part of this creation.
