LEGO Robotech Valkyrie Yamato VF-1A. The Biggest MOC of it's kind!

Robotech was an American 85-episode adaptation of three unrelated anime television series  made between 1982-1984 in Japan; the adaptation was aired in 1985. Within the combined and edited story, Robotechnology refers to the scientific advances discovered in an alien starship that crashed on a South Pacific island. With this technology, Earth developed giant robotic machines or mecha (many of which were capable of transforming into vehicles) to fight three successive extraterrestrial invasions.

Created by G_phy, this Valkyrie LEGO MOC is by far the biggest mecha MOC we've seen so far. How can we possibly know that? Let me get things clear first: we couldn't find any further information and details on this creation or its creator. Having said that, we can tell is a big MOC because it fits a little Technic Men inside, meaning this Valkyrie is made to match that scale.

Aside from being a big bad and mean (in a good sense) work of art, this Valkyrie VF-1A is fully functional, meaning it can transform into the 3 iconic variants as seen in the original animated series:
  • Fighter (airplane)
  • Gerwalk (bidepadl)
  • Battloid (mech)

This model apparently is made entirely with Technic pieces. That's how the creator managed to achieve the actual size and scale.

This MOC is based on the Vf-1A/S Ichijyo Hikaru Valkyrie from the animated series and has nothing to envy from some of the BANDAI and Hasegawa plastic models.

There's a live action adaptation in the works. Sony’s live-action Robotech movie is to be directed by Andy Muschietti. Sony has also recruited Wonder Woman writer Jason Fuchs. Production on Robotech will reportedly not begin until after Muschietti has finished making IT: Chapter Two, the sequel to his blockbuster horror movie IT, so we can expect this one by 2019.
